The two sonographers are Brendon and Melanie Cosford, a husband and wife team who have three children,Ben,Alex and Sam.
Brendon trained as a radiographer at Auckland Hospital graduating in 1994.He then performed locums in Tasmania and Queensland before taking up a training post for ultrasound at the Gold Coast Public Hospital. He graduated through the Queensland University of Technology in 1997. He moved to private practice on the Gold Coast before heading to London to further gain experience.He was Charge Sonographer at ST Bartholomews Hospital,London.He also worked at ST Marys Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospital.He ended his experience as a sole charge sonographer on the Sheltland Islands at the Gilbert Bain Hospital before returning to Australia.He returned to New Zealand to work for Hamilton Radiology and then Charge sonographer at Medimaging.He has special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and paediatric ultrasound.
Melanie trained at Middlemore Hospital and graduated as a radiographer in 1995 before heading abroad to train as a sonographer with South Coast Radiology.She qualified in 2002 and practiced both privately and through several public hospitals in London.She returned to New Zealand to work for Hamilton Radiology and Medimaging. Over the past seven years she has worked part time while raising three children.She has special interest in obstetric scanning and maternal well being.
